We have reached the stage where we have built a full size working replica of William Murdoch's steam carriage.  Applications for further project funding are being considered and there is still an opportunity for companies and individuals to support this project now by sponsorship.

Grants totalling £5,500 have been awarded to the project by the Cory Environmental Trust for which we are most grateful.

Redruth Town Council have supported this project in many ways and continue to do so including grants of £5000 towards the construction and £1000 to facilitate public display.

We are grateful to Transco plc who kindly granted the project £1000 towards the wheels on the full size carriage.

We are very indebted to Atkins and Cripps, Hardwood Importers of Bishops Stortford, who provided us with £800 worth of timber for construction of the chassis on the full size steam driven carriage.

Kerrier District Council granted £4,200 for public display sign-posting, lighting and a video touch screen information facility as well as £500 for our original feasibility study.

The Redruth Charity Trust have awarded the project several grants totalling over £500.

Redruth Town Forum made grants of £500 towards research and £300 towards construction of the model test boilers.

Many local companies have provided donations, materials and services for construction of the steam carriage, including Hobby Club, Camborne. We are indebted to MY Motors of Redruth who have provided transport in the early stages of the project. Cornish Linen Services provided our display team with smart boiler suits.  Support has also been provided by Rent-a-Fence of Redruth  and Shaun Moyse by the loan of transportation trailers and towing vehicles.

Other sponsors have included the Redruth Mayor`s Charity Fund; the Neighbourhood Renewal Community Chest; Chris Thomas, Gents Hairdresser, Redruth; The Murdoch Bar, Redruth.

Sponsors and helpers are acknowledged in our public display. All sponsors of the project to the value of £500 or more are identified by a brass plaque affixed to a coal and water wagon which is displayed with the full size steam carriage.

This project is ongoing. We need your financial help now so that we can continue to use our workshop facilities and insure and display the full size replica of Murdoch`s steam driven carriage. We will appreciate any financial support, large or small, which you are able to offer us.
